This heartbreaking story shared by a doctor will remain in your heart forever!

As people are struggling to grapple with the pandemic, stories from ordinary people can really stir up the water filled with optimism, faith or even gloominess and sadness.

A heart-breaking story was shared by a doctor who is half Bengali and half Telugu and is fighting hard to save lives named Dipshikha Ghosh. She shared that when her shift was about to end, she video called the relatives of a patient, who was not going to survive. This a norm that is followed by the hospital, if something is asked by a patient. The son of the patient took the time and sang a song for his mother, who was taking her last breaths.

‘He sang Tera Mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Nata Koi. I just stood there holding the phone, looking at him looking at his mother and singing. The nurses came over and stood in silence. He broke down in the middle but finished the verse. He asked her vitals, thanked me and hung up’ said Dr. Dipshikha.

She then continued ‘Me and the nurses stood there. We shakes our heads, our eyes moist. The nurses went back one by one to their allocated patients and attended to them or the alarms of vents/dialysis units. This song is changed for us, for me at least. This song will always be theirs.’

The son felt fortunate enough to have Dr. Dipshikha call his mother but she says that words are not enough and she’s always there if one ever should need anything.

Reading the thread on twitter, the song will never ever be the same for us. The song now possesses so many hidden layers of affections, emotions and feelings. Dr. Dipshikha has herself written the whole story on Indian Express. The farewell she held for the son and the mother will always remain in our heart and whenever the song ‘Tera Mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Nata Koi’ is played will now leave us tears more than ever. Such a heartbreaking yet a beautiful story.
