Narendra Modi government which was boasting about the inauguration of much awaited and the longest bridge in India connecting Dhola and Sadiya, now that project has raised serious questions after the major accident took place on Monday.
As two men were injured while travelling from Dhola to Sadiya and one of them has lost his arm in the accident and another one sustained minor injuries.
The accident took place around 9:30 PM, all because there were no lights on the bridge
Sadiya SP P.S. Changmai said. “They were on a motorcycle when they they lost control and hit a sentry post on the side,”
Now localites have demanded that there are no lights on the bridge to install lights for the safety of commuters.
All Tai Ahom Students’ Union Sadiya subdivision committee president, Jatin Buragohain told The Telegraph, “You don’t move in a house and then propose for lighting arrangement, do you? In the absence of lights, the bridge will become quite vulnerable to accidents and militant attack.”
