PM Modi’s loyal IPS OP Singh to be DGP UP

1983 batch IPS officer OP Singh appointed as the DGP UP. He was earlier posted in CISFHQrs  as DG.  Sulkhan Singh to retire today.

1983 batch IPS officer OP Singh has issued notification for the creation of DGP.

There has been a major administrative reshuffle in Uttar Pradesh. Om Prakash Singh will now be the Director General (DGP) of the state police instead of Sukhkhan Singh.

Home Secretary Arvind Kumar said on Sunday that 1983 batch IPS officer Om Prakash Singh will be the next Director General of Police. He will replace Sulkhan Singh who is retiring today.

Sulkhan Singh was retired in September but the government had given him extension of 3 months. Their service expansion ends on December 31.

Om Prakash Singh, originally from Bihar, is on deputation at the center. Presently he is posted as CISF’s DG. OP Singh, who has sharpest and clean image, is the seventh highest ranking officer in seniority in seniority. His service term is January 2020.

Kumar added that till the time Singh takes over, ADG law and order Anand Kumar will look after day to day work of DGP.
