1. AAP to contest 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, says Arvind Kejriwal.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announced that the Aam Aadmi Party will fight the 2022 assembly election in Uttar Pradesh which he said should become a developed state.

In a press conference, Kejriwal said Uttar Pradesh does not have good schools and hospitals and people are facing irregular power supply.

AAP formed a government in Delhi for the third time earlier after winning the 2020 Delhi Assembly election with a landslide margin.AAP won 62 out of 70 seats, while eight seats went to BJP.

2. UK PM Boris Johnson accepts Modi’s invitation to be Chief Guest at Republic Day celebrations.

Britain Prime Minister Boris Johnson accepted the invitation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be Chief Guest at India’s Republic Day celebrations on 26 January 2021 in New Delhi, informed UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab on Tuesday.

“UK PM Johnson has also accepted the very generous invitation to attend India’s Republic Day celebrations in January, which is a great honor,” said Britain’s foreign secretary.

With this, Johnson becomes the second UK prime minister to attend the event after John Major in 1993.

3. TV actress Chitra’s husband Hemanath arrested for allegedly abetting suicide.

Popular television actress VJ Chitra’s husband Hemanath has been arrested by Nazrathpet Police on December 15 for allegedly abetting suicide. The police had gathered evidence to slap a case against Hemanath. Chitra in the wee hours of December 9 was found hanging at her hotel room.

Chitra’s husband Hemanath was arrested by the cops and was produced at the Poonamalle High Court. He has now been lodged in Ponneri Jail after being interrogated for six days. He has been booked under Section 306 of IPC (Indian Penal Code). Reportedly, the police had gathered enough evidence against him

4. Tony-Winning Broadway Legend Ann Reinking Dies at Age 71.

Tony Award-winning Broadway legend Ann Reinking, an actor, dancer, and choreographer, died on Saturday night in Washington, her sister-in-law Dahrla King told Variety. She was 71.

“The world and our family have lost a vibrant, amazing talent and beautiful soul. Ann was the heart of our family and the life of the party,” her family said in a statement on Monday. “She was visiting our brother in Washington state when she went to sleep and never woke up. We will miss her more than we can say. Heaven has the best choreographer available now. I’m sure they are dancing up a storm up there! Annie, we will love and miss you always!!!”
