Netizens slam Facebook for briefly suspending the Kisan Ekta Morcha FB page

Facebook took down the page of Kisan Ekta Morcha for several hours on Sunday, sparking widespread criticism over what farmers said was an attempt the down their voices.

However, the tech giant after facing severe criticisms then restored the page saying it regretted the inconvenience caused.

On Sunday around 7:30 pm, Kisan Ekta Morcha tweeted that their Facebook page was ‘unpublished’.The farmers collective Also provided a screenshot of the page which said,” Your page has been unpublished. This is because Kisan Ekta Morcha goes against our community standard or spam”

KEM along with the screenshot said ‘This is what they can do when people raise their voices. When they can’t beat us ideologically.

The news of KEM suspension had led to a flurry of reaction on Twitter. Netizens sets the social media abuzz with their reactions.

Kisan Ekta Morcha is a farmers’ collective and a Facebook page has over 100,000 followers and identifies itself as the official platform of the Kisan Andolan. The page regularly publishes updates on the protests, videos of speeches given by farmer union leaders, and also counts what is claims is misinformation by the Centre.
