Microsoft has a way with its bae-interns. And it was very well evident on Wednesday when the digital giant rolled out a yet another failed experiment. It was all set to offer some booze on the loose.
What actually happened was that the company sent out a beyond embarrassing email to its San Francisco interns inviting them to the company’s afterparty for something called “Internapalooza” complete with some really heinous attempts at slang, the Seattle Times reports.
The email slithered the invite with “Hey Bae Intern! <3” and got worse till it reached a level of embarrassment where the language would rather like to Rest in Peace.
“There will be hella noms, lots of dranks, the best beats and just like last year we’re breaking out the Yammer beer pong tables!” Which posed an even greater deal to decipher by the interns. And the grool invitation was wrapped up with a cheery sendoff, “Hell yes to getting lit on a Monday night!”
The collective response to the email from the enlightened young interns seemed to be LOL, WTF? and it wasn’t very late till the screenshots surfed on Twitter prompting the software hulk to apologize publicly.
A spokesperson addressed the cringeworthy grab at millennial recruits a few hours after the email went viral, telling Gizmodo that, “The email was poorly worded and not in keeping with our values as a company. We are looking into how this occurred and will take appropriate steps to address it.”
