Jio 5G to be launched by the second half of 2021: Ambani.

Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Tuesday signalled that the 5G services of Reliance Jio to be rolled out by the second half of the year 2021 and said that the policy steps are needed to accelerate the rollout of ultra- high speed 5G services that are affordable and available to everyone around the country.

Jio Sim which is a 4- year old telecom venture has won the No. 1 spot for offering free voice calling and data at cheap rates, and also delivered for developing the hardware manufacturing services in India.

5G is the 5th Generation mobile network that enables the connecting virtuality everyone and everything together including machines, objects, and devices at highest speed ever.

“In order to maintain this lead, policy steps are needed to accelerate the early rollout of 5G, and to make it affordable and available everywhere,” said Ambani. “I assure you that Jio will pioneer the 5G Revolution in India in the second half of 2021.” He added.

Jio’s 5G will be powered by the originally developed network, hardware and technology components. Jio 5G service will also be the part of Atmanirbhar Bharat Movement.

Just like Jio, other telecom service providers like Bharti Airtel, VI (Vodafone Idea) offer 4G and 3G services. However, Indian telecom department also offers the 2G network that supports only voice calling and text messaging.
