But people who have made their names in this film industry have called it a gutter, I completely disagree”,she said without mentioning any names from the industry.
Actress Kangana Ranaut responded to Bachchan’s statement through her twitter handle:
“Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place, it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhishek complained about the bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also.”

However, Jaya Bachchan’s statement was praised by ‘Thappad’ actress Taapsee Pannu and director Anubhav Sinha in which they both tweeted:
“I send my best regards to Jaya ji. See those who don’t know. This is how the spine looks.”- Sinha tweeted.

“For we have always stood by the initiatives, causes and awareness campaigns. It’stime for payback. Hitting the nail on its head and how! Yet again a woman from industry spoke up #respect.” Taapsee tweeted.
