There are few stars in Bollywood that have been pretty vocal about their political opinions. Amid anti and pro CAA and NRC protests, Naseeruddin Shah has openly spoken against the central government. In a recent interview that he gave to ‘The Wire’, he commented on Anupam Kher who is a supporter of CAA and NRC.

Shah says “Someone like Anupam Kher has been very vocal. I don’t think he needs to be taken seriously. He’s a clown. Any number of his contemporaries from NFD and FTII can attest to his sycophantic nature. It’s in his blood, he can’t help it.”

This statement went viral like anything! Some people used Shah’s statement and trolled Anupam Kher further, while some slammed down Naseeruddin Shah for they found the language of the statement that he gave to be inappropriate.

However, in reply to Naseeruddin Shah’s statement, Anupam Kher seemed to have kept calm. Anupam Kher shared his response to Naseeruddin Shah’s statement through a video. In the video, he says that he hardly takes any bit of Shah’s statement seriously and Shah has previously spoken ill about people like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Dilip Kumar and Virat Kohli so he considers himself to be in good company. He also calls Naseeruddin Shah “frustrated”. Anupam Kher adds that Naseeruddin Shah cannot differentiate good and bad and if speaking badly about him gets him some publicity then he has no issues with it.
