Heavy rain, thunderstorm lash Delhi-NCR; flights affected, temp drastically falls to 18° C

23 May 2021,(New Delhi): From Delhi-NCR to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the weather has changed in the morning. In most of the states of North India, there has been light rain and light rain in some places. Amidst the rising mercury, the rain has given relief to the people from the heat. At the same time, in some places this change of weather has also become a cause of trouble. Trees have been uprooted in many areas amid strong winds and dangerous storms. Many flights have been affected at Delhi Airport due to the weather between storm and rain.

From Delhi to Noida, Ghaziabad, it is raining in most areas of NCR after thunderstorm and storm. Due to which the weather has become pleasant. Apart from Delhi, rain with strong winds has also been seen in Saharanpur, Deoband, Najibabad, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Khatauli, Hastinapur, Chandpur and adjoining areas of Uttar Pradesh.

According to IMD, parts of Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan may also receive light rain and thundershowers for the next two days. Let us inform that the Meteorological Department (IMD) in its forecast had predicted strong winds and light to moderate rain in different parts of Delhi-NCR.

Today (Monday), 23 May, the minimum temperature in Delhi is expected to be 23 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature is 39 degree Celsius. In the midst of thunderstorms, the Meteorological Department has issued other warnings along with advising not to go out.

According to IMD, due to Western Disturbance i.e. Western Disturbance, there is relief from heat wave and drop in temperature due to changing weather. According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds with a speed of 50 to 80 kilometers per hour are expected in Delhi-NCR for the next few hours.

According to the weather forecast, there is no possibility of heatwave in Delhi for about a week. In such a situation, there will be some relief from the rising temperature and heat. Similar storm-rain activities will continue till May 24.
