IPL 2020 is round the corner and Chennai Super Kings is already facing a lot of challenges even before the tournament is taking place. On Friday, August 28, 13 of the staff members of the franchise tested COVID-19 positive after landing Dubai due to which, the whole team was asked to quarantine themselves. On the next day, The official page of CSK tweeted about Suresh Raina backing off from IPL 2020 due to some ‘personal reasons’.

On Tuesday, Raina tweeted to Punjab Police about the incident about how his family became the victim of such heinous crime by writing:

“What happened to my family in Punjab was beyond horrible. My uncle was slaughtered to death, my bua & both my cousins hasd severe injuries. Unfortunately, my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua is still very critical & is on life support.”

Although the yellow army has now been tested COVID-19 negative, and can resume their training, but still the team’s specialist off- spinner Harbhajan Singh has pulled out from this year’s tournament because of Novel Coronavirus scare.

“He (Harbhajan Singh) was to join the team on 1st September but he was again deffered in his arrival. We don’t know when he’s coming or whether he’s coming at all as he has not updated us (management) on his decision. Him pulling out of IPL is all speculation at the moment.” the official told Times Now.

As of now, it is not final if Bhajji is going to play the 13th season of IPL or not. But if he pull out, it will be a massive setback for MS Dhoni- led team. The management is discussing about who will replace Raina in the Number 3 spot and Bhajji’s absence might increase the pressure for the team. Apperently, the spinning department of Chennai Super Kings have Imran Khan, Piyush Chawla, Karn Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Starner and Kedar Jadhav.
