A day after being attacked by a mob in Moyna district, former cricketer and Bhartiya Janta Party Candidate from West Bengal’s East Midnapore Ashok Dinda has been provided Y+ security. From now on, about 20 CRPF Jawans will encompass the BJP Candidate.
Ashok Dinda was allegedly attacked and his vehicle was vandalized when he was returning from a roadshow ahead of phase 2 Elections of West Bengal on April 1.
It is being said that a mob of around 50 people pelted on the car in which Ashok Dinda was traveling. The BJP candidate claimed that the mob attacked his car and had hit him on the back with a brick.
Mr. Dinda was returning from a roadshow when his SUV was attacked around 4.30 pm by hundreds of goons, wielding lathi and rods, his manager said.
“The incident happened right in front of Moyna Bazar when we were returning from a roadshow. There was one local TMC goon, Shahjahan Ali, who along with others, numbering more than a hundred, attacked with lathi, rods, and bricks,” the manager reported media personnel
For the unversed Dinda had accused Trinamool Congress of attack. He had even lodged a complaint against TMC at the police station over the attack.
Although The TMC had denied the allegations saying that the attack was the result of infighting within the BJP.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India has sought a report from the district administration in connection with the attack on Ashok Dinda.
