Former Australia all-rounder cricketer, Andrew Symonds dies in car crash!

15 May 2022, (New Delhi): According to a police statement, “Preliminary information indicated that the car was being driven on Hervey Range Road near Ellis River Bridge just after 11 p.m. The car rolled off the road and the accident occurred. Emergency services called 46 Tried to save the year-old driver, however he died due to his injuries. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.”

In the early hours of Sunday, a bad news has come for the cricket lovers. Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds has died in a car accident. It is being told that his car came off the road in Townsville on Saturday night and the cricketer died in the accident. After the death of Andrew Symonds, there is a wave of mourning in the sports world including his fans. Recently, Australian cricket team also lost Shane Warne.

According to a News Corp report, Symonds’ family issued a statement “confirming his passing, and appreciated the sympathy and condolences of the people, and asked that his privacy be respected.”

Symonds, who played 198 ODIs for Australia, was also part of the 2003 and 2003 World Cup squads. In these two years, the Kangaroo team won back to back titles under the captaincy of Ponting without losing any match. Apart from this, this great player also played 26 Tests for Australia.

Former Australia captain Allan Border pays tribute to Symonds. Talking to Nine Network, he said, “He wanted to hit the ball long and entertain the fans. He was kind of an old-fashioned cricketer.
In recent years, Symonds worked as a TV commentator for Fox Sports and was a regular on the microphone for Big Bash League broadcasts.”


Symonds played 26 Tests, 198 ODIs and 14 T20Is for Australia. During this, his bat scored 1462, 5088 and 337 runs respectively. At the international level, he took a total of 165 wickets in all three formats. Symonds was also known for his aggressive insides and excellent fielding on the field.
