Indian Railway and Railway products (IRCTC) are always considered to be down market. ‘RailNeer’, a product of IRCTC is given for free to the passengers traveling on the train but as a matter of fact, most of the people use not to consume it and rather people use to buy their own water bottles.
Seeing this PM Modi and Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu started working on the brand image of the Indian Railway. Today in the high-profile cabinet meeting the ‘RailNeer’ was served to the country’s most high-profile leaders. Now is that a strategy to promote the Railway products? Well, we don’t know that but yes, all we know is that it is a good initiative by Suresh Prabhu to improve the bad image of Indian Railway products.
The purity of the bottled drinking water supplied by the Indian Railways came under the scanner of the Supreme Court, earlier this year and it put the onus on the Railways to establish its safety. But through all the drifts the Railneer proudly stood tall on the table of PM Narendra Modi and his cabinet ministers. So, from now one do not judge the people who roam around with the bottle of ‘Railneer’ in their hands. It’s the new swag!
