“BJP back stabbed us in Maharashtra” Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut

Sanjay Raut is a prominent face in the politics of Maharashtra, and his party Shiv Sena is the ally of the party in power at the centre, the BJP. Sanjay Raut is always in the news, thanks to his fierce stand against their own political ally BJP. Sanjay Raut has the stronghold in the politics of financial capital of India and is an ardent follower of Bala Saheb Thackeray. In conversation with News Leak Centre Editor, Madan Mohit Bhardwaj, Sanjay Raut opens up on many contentious issues with its alliance partner BJP.

On the question of why there’s a war of words between the two ally parties Shiv Sena and the BJP, Sanjay Raut says that we are not scared of anyone, “What will happen to us? The worst, we might be overthrown from this power. We are not scared of it. We follow Bala Saheb Thackeray footsteps and his saying, ‘We are not born for power, power born for us’ ” He further added, “What about the BJP members? Their members aren’t even in the power; they are searching for the power elsewhere.”

Targeting PM Modi, Sanjay Raut said that Modi sold a billion dreams before coming to the power, what had happened now? He says, “Before coming to Delhi, Modiji said that he has the magic wand which will send Pakistan to backfoot and Nawaz Shariff will surrender, India will capture Pak Occupied Kashmir (PoK). These all dreams were sold to us”.

He further targeted PM Modi and said, “What he had done to the economy? Before coming to the power, he said inflation will come down, poverty will be in check and business will flourish and see what had happened, nothing. As Shiv Sena is an ally, that’s why we speak, others don’t dare raise their voice. It’s the Shive Sena who is speaking for the people.”

On demonetisation, Sanjay Raut targets PM Modi, he says that it is a disastrous step for the nation.

When asked about the opposition being broken down to pieces by the BJP, Sanjay Raut said, “They tried hard to break down the opposition. BJP broke the 25-year-old ally with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra. We guided the BJP in Maharashtra, and look what they have done, they backstabbed us after they thought that they are capable of making their own government.”
