Big Complication To Noida CEO Ritu Maheshwari After Supreme Court Baffled Ritu Maheshwari!

May 9, 2022 (New Delhi): Ritu Maheshwari, CEO of Noida Authority has once again got a setback. The Supreme Court has refused to grant relief to Ritu Maheshwari in the non-bailable warrant case. Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari reached the Supreme Court after the Allahabad High Court order.

Hearing a case on Friday, Allahabad High Court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari, after which Ritu Maheshwari reached the Supreme Court against the decision. The Supreme Court, while hearing the case, reprimanded Ritu Maheshwari and refused to cancel the non-bailable warrant while continuing the Allahabad High Court’s decision.
The Supreme Court said “If you do not follow the order of the High Court, then you will have to face the consequences.”

Ritu Maheshwari’s lawyer in the Supreme Court had sought interim relief, demanding an early hearing of the matter. The Supreme Court further said “You are an IAS officer. You know the rules.” CJI NV Ramana has said that every other day some officers come to the court for directions even in serious cases.

Expressing displeasure, the Supreme Court said “Every day the orders of the Allahabad High Court are violated. It has become a routine. An officer goes to court. What is this? Do not respect court orders.” SC refused during oral listening today. The hearing will take place after the case is in lit tomorrow.


Actually, the whole matter is such that the authority in Sector 82 of Noida had acquired the land in 1989 and in 1990 under the urgency clause, against which the land was challenged by the owner of the land, Manorama Kuchhal. After this, the Allahabad High Court ruled in favor of Manorama in 2016. The High Court quashed the land acquisition taken by the Authority under the urgency clause. And ordered the authority to pay compensation to the petitioner at twice the circle rate.

The Noida Authority reached the Supreme Court against the orders of the Allahabad High Court. The Supreme Court also ruled in favor of the petitioner and ordered the authority to comply with the orders given by the Allahabad High Court. Despite the order, the petitioner was not compensated, then the petitioner filed a contempt petition against the authority in the Allahabad High Court, in the hearing of which the court called Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari twice to the court. But she could not reach.


On Friday, Noida Authority CEO Maheshwari’s lawyer Ravindra Srivastava told the court that Ritu would fly from Delhi at 10:30 am, expressing displeasure that she had to appear in the court at 10:00 am. But intentionally taking flight from Delhi at 10:30. This comes under contempt of court, after which the High Court issued a non-bailable warrant against Ritu Maheshwari and ordered her to appear inside the court in police custody.
