“Age is just a number ” for Jharkhand Education Minister Jagarnath Mahto as he applies for admission in class 11

Jharkhand Education minister Jagarnath Mahto enrolled for admission in class 11 as a regular student at government-affiliated Devi Mahto inter-college under his Assembly constituency of Dumri.

The 53-year-old minister Jagarnath Mahto justifying the famous quote “Age is just a number ” has decided to resume his education after 25 years.

Education minister Jagarnath Mahto has studied till class 10 and has now enrolled in a college set up by him in the year 2006, to complete his further studies. Jagarnath Mahto has taken admission as an inter-arts student to wipe out the criticism of being termed an “underqualified ” Education Minister.

On being asked about why he wants to pursue an education? Jagarnath Mahto said ” When I took oath in as an education minister, some people asked how can a 10th grade pass minister provide development in the education sector? This is a perfect reply to those people. Constant criticism has inspired me to restart my pending education. I will complete my education attend classes and serve the people. There is no age for education and learning new skills.”

Answering the question about how he will handle both ministry and classes he said “let me get admission first. I have just applied for admission today. If my application falls under rules. I will get admission. Thereafter I will think about striking a balance.”

Education Minister Jagannath Mahto has passed his matriculation in 1995. On the Occasion of announcing his admission in the intermediate class, Jagarnath Mahto said that 4,416 schools are going to open soon in Jharkhand.
