‘MSP Tha, MSP Hai, MSP Rahega’: PM Modi assures protesting farmers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday made a strong appeal to protesting farmers to end their agitation against the new farm laws as he questioned the opposition parties for their sudden ‘U-Turn’ on the farm reforms.

The Prime Minister also reiterated the central government’s firm commitment to continue with the MSP(Minimum Support Price), while replying to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha.

Prime Minister on Rajya Sabha said ‘MSP tha , MSP hai aur MSP Rahega ‘PM also assured that hat affordable ration for the poor will continue and Mandis will be modernized.

PM said that the need of the hour is to improve the lives of small farmers in the country. The Prime Minister also hit out at those behind the protest saying a new ‘breed’ of agitators has emerged in the country who cannot live without agitation and the country should be beware of them.

He quoted former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the need for reforms in the farm laws and said Congress should be proud that they are doing such reforms which the former Prime Minister wanted.

While reacting to the Prime Minister’s speech Bhartiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait said ‘WhenWhen did we say that MSP is ending? We said that a law is formed on MSP. If such a law is formed, all the farmers of the country will be benefitted. Right now, there is no law on MSP and the farmers are looted by traders.
