“MP Man Protests Corruption: Rolls on Road Inside District Collectorate to Demand Action”

In a dramatic and unconventional protest, Mukesh Prajapat took to the streets of Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, rolling on the road with a garland of documents around his neck to demand action against a village sarpanch for alleged corruption. Prajapat’s unique method of protest, which involved rolling inside the district collectorate premises, aimed to draw attention to his grievances that he claims have been ignored for the past 6 to 7 years. The video of Prajapat’s protest, which quickly went viral on social media, was even shared by the state Congress on its official X (formerly Twitter) account.

In response to the protest, Neemuch District Collector Himanshu Chandra has directed officials to launch a fresh investigation into Prajapat’s complaint. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Mamta Khede confirmed that while a previous probe by the Panchayat and Rural Development had been conducted, the district collector’s new directive will ensure a renewed examination of the allegations. The protest echoes a similar incident from July, where an elderly farmer in Mandsaur rolled on the floor of the collector’s office to protest land-grabbing issues. Every Tuesday, the collector’s office in MP districts holds public hearings to address citizen grievances, making Prajapat’s protest a notable example of how citizens are seeking attention to their issues.
