Ever wonder what really goes on during your menstrual cycle? This video explains everything in just 2 minutes. Starting at day one, when girls period starts, to days 26-28, when girl period is gearing up to start again.
What is a menstrual cycle?
The menstrual cycle or commonly known as Periods is a series of monthly changes women experience as the body prepares for a possible pregnancy. Each month, an ovary releases an egg (ovulation), and hormones change to prep the uterus for a potential bun in the oven. If the egg isn’t fertilized, the lining of the uterus is shed and voilà—a period happens. The whole cycle takes an average of 28 days. For most women, menstruation starts around age 12, and a menstrual cycle occurs every month until they reach menopause, around the age of 50.
Their clip stars a woman brilliantly acting out the different emotions you might experience at different times of the month. Menstruation can play a big role in our feelings (for a boyfriend it does), since it causes hormone levels—like estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone—to fluctuate throughout the month.
