The woman who needs no introduction, the queen of pop music Beyonce Giselle Knowles was born on September 4, 1981, in Texas. Her talent was the talk of the town since the beginning and at the age of 9, her dad formed a group named ‘ Girl’s Tyme ’. The group consists of her childhood friends such as Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams and was seen on the television show ‘Star Search’.

Eventually, the group was renamed ‘Destiny’s Child’ and won two Grammy Awards with their album ‘The Writing’s on the Wall’, grabbing the number one spot on Billboard 200s.

The group separated eventually so that everyone can focus on their selves. In the year 2003, Beyonce released her single ‘Dangerously in Love’ and another one titled ‘Crazy in Love’ alongside rapper Jay-Z. 2004 was the year she won five Grammys and the best female R&B vocal performance. The following year was the time for the reunion of the trio Destiny’s Child and the album sold more than seven million copies.

With all these achievements and success, she focused a bit on her personal life as well. Rumors of Beyonce and Jay-Z dating started. A little fast forward to the year 2008 and they both got hitched in a very private ceremony. They were both now one of the top-earning couples in the music world. The couple welcomed a beautiful baby girl better known as Blue Ivy in the year 2012 and their twins in the year 2017. Not only limiting her talent skills to singing, but she also made her acting debut with the movie ‘Carmen’.

Calling her a culture icon will never be wrong. Being a woman of color, she represented her culture at its best and nothing less. Giving the power to her female audience with songs such as ‘Single Ladies’ and ‘Who run the World’, the singer is a motivation for all the women and even men for that matter. We hope to listen to more of her music in the upcoming years.
