The pace with which the science is developing in today’s time is a boon to every possible being living on this planet. Giving another feather to its cap, science has come up with something that will challenge mother nature.
Science has progressed so far that man, soon, will have their own womb. Yes! you read that right.
Uterus transplantation is an emerging procedure with research continuing, giving it possibility in women and transgender women, doctors are in a mood to give it a try on men as well.
Director of the fertility preservation program at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine, Dr Karine Chung, has said: “My guess is five, 10 years away, maybe sooner. Male and female anatomy is not that different. Probably at some point, we’ll figure out how to make that work.”
If this technique comes to reality, it won’t be in a reach for the general public because of two reasons.
1) The pricing. Initially, it would cost lacs, or crore, maybe.
2) there are questions as to how a male carrying and birthing a baby could affect the child’s welfare in later life, purely as there is no precedent.
This technology, though, will benefit to all those married couples who are not having babies due to health problems or lifestyle.
