Remembering Sushant Singh Rajput:Take a look at the Key Moments from the SSR’s Career in Bollywood.

It has been one year since the talented Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed away. Sushant Singh Rajput was one such actor who was versatile in all genres whether it was acting, dancing, fitness, or even education. Sushant never failed to impress his fans more with his kind and down to earth behaviour.

His tragic demise had left everyone in a state of deep shock and grief , and his family and fans are yet to come to terms with his demise. The actor breathed his last on June 14, 2020.

Needless the say, his demise has left a huge void in the Indian Film Industry. Sushant successfully transitioned from a career on television to becoming a film superstar. Sushant had managed to carve a niche for himself in the Indian Film Industry.

As fans remember the dear ‘Anni’, on his first death anniversary, here is a look at the Star’s contribution to Bollywood and Television Industry.

1 Finding a foothold –

Sushant was born in Patna in 1986 and began his acting career with a supporting role in the Ekta Kapoor’s produced show Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil. Then, it was his performance in Pavitra Rishta as Manav Deshmukh that has opened new avenues for him. The show revolved around the journey of two lovers Archana and Manav played by Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande and received immense praise for the engaging plot and performances.

However Sushant left the show in 2011, two years after it has gone on air, and was replaced by Hiten Tejwani.

2. Starting his career in Bollywood –

Sushant’s Debut Film Kai Po Che is one of the best films of his career. Based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘3 Mistakes of My Life’, the movie revolves around the life of three best friends and their journey of life. Sushant as Ishaan Bhatt acted as a catalyst in the film’s success.

In the same year, the actor was part of the Yash Raj Film directed by Maneesh Sharma called Shudh Desi Romance starring Vaani Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. while it was not a massive success, it was appreciated for taking on the risky and almost taboo subject of live-in relationships and pre-marital sex.

In 2014, Sushant went on a different path and played a side character in Raj Kumar Hirani’s PK. Despite his screen timing being short, the actor managed to deliver one of his most memorable performances as Sarfaraz Yousuf.

In 2015, Sushant led Dibakar Banerjee’s film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy where he appeared as the famous detective from Bengal. While the film did not do well at the box office it gained a separate fanbase.

3. Break Through Year-

The year 2016 proved to be a memorable one for the young hero as the early awaited film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story opened to a thunderous response at the box office. The film became a superhit and launched the actor to stardom. While MS Dhoni’s turnout was phenomenal, the film was probably the biggest risk of his career that paid off.

4. A setback and Bouncing Back-

Sushant wasn’t able to capitalize on the MS Dhoni film’s success as his next release Raabta co-starring Kriti Sanon underperformed at the box office. He, however, bounced back with the hit film Kedarnath directed by Abhishek Kapoor. The film also marked the debut of Sara Ali Khan. The actor completely redeemed himself with Nitesh Tiwari’s film Chhichhore which became one of the highest points in the actor’s career. Chhichhore went on to become one of the highest-grossing films of 2019.

5. Posthumous triumph –

After his tragic and untimely death in 2020, his last film Dil Bechara was released. The film directed by Mukesh Chhabra is the Hindi remake of The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Dil Bechara went on to become the most-watched film on Disney plus Hotstar.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s contribution and his versatile acting will be remembered for years and will never be forgotten.
