If you are planning to travel in trains like Shatabdi, Rajdhani and Duronto then know it’s latest hiked prices here.

Indian Railways of Catering and Tourism Cooperation (IRTC) hiked meal prices in Shatabadi, Rajdhani and Duronto class of trains ,resulting in slight increase in fares, according to government order. And this would led rise in the prices of tourism.

In a statement IRTC said“ the Ministry of railways has revised the tariff of standard meals of static units in railway stations.”

Following the decision, IRTC share price rose in early trade of Tuesday.IRTC stock price rose upto 4.09% to Rs 899.90 compared to previous close to Rs 864.50 on BSE. It hit intraday low of Rs 875.80.

According to the circular issued by director (catering and tourism) of cost of prepaid food on said Shatabadi ,Rajdhani and Durunto trains will go up significantly.

• Veg breakfast -₹35

  • Non veg breakfast-₹45
  • Standard veg meals -₹70
  • Standard meals (egg curry) -₹80
  • Standard meal (chicken curry) -₹120
  • Veg Biryani (350gm) -₹70
  • Egg Biryani (350gm) -₹80
  • Chicken Biryani (350gm) -₹100
  • Snack meal (350gm) -₹50 IRTC and Zonal railways has further ensured that increase in prices of meal would help further improvement of hygiene and quality of the food. To achieve this objective intensive inspections shall be carried out. Breakfast will cost of ₹140 to ₹105 in AC first AC second and AC third of Rajdhani, Shatabadi and Duronto trains, respectively. For lunch and dinner you have to pay ₹245 in first AC and ₹185 to AC second and AC third in Rajdhani, Shatabadi and Duronto trains. For evening tea you have to shell out ₹140 for AC first and ₹80 for AC second and third of Rajdhani, Shatabadi and Duronto trains.

Passengers travelling in sleeper class of Duronto trains will have to pay ₹65 for breakfast, ₹120 for lunch/dinner and ₹ 50 for evening tea.
