The 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections have concluded, and the “Mahayuti” alliance, consisting of the BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), and Ajit Pawar’s NCP, has achieved a majority by surpassing the 145-seat mark in the 288-member assembly. The BJP alone is leading in 118 constituencies, Shiv Sena in 56, and Ajit Pawar’s NCP in 37. The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), comprising the Congress, Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction), and Sharad Pawar’s NCP, is trailing with around 52 seats.Prominent leaders such as Deputy CM Ajit Pawar are leading in Baramati, while Devendra Fadnavis is expected to be the chief ministerial face for the Mahayuti. Meanwhile, some significant opposition figures, including Aaditya Thackeray, are leading in their respective constituencies.
