Infamous gangster Vikas Dubey killed in an encounter: Know-How
Kanpur shootout accused Vikas Dubey killed in the encounter. Vikas Dubey was being brought to Kanpur by road. The vehicle from which Vikas Dubey was being brought by the police overturned on the way. Seeing the opportunity, Vikas Dubey tried to run away after which the police and he had an encounter. According to police, Vikas Dubey was killed in cross-firing.
After the encounter, the body of Vikas Dubey was brought to Halat Hospital in Kanpur where he was declared dead by doctors. It is being told that a train of STF convoy carrying History Sheeter Vikas Dubey from Ujjain to Kanpur was overturned. During this, Vikas Dubey tried to escape by snatching the pistol of an STF officer.
Vikas Dubey encounter has given rise to the various speculated difference in belief:
- Vehicle in which Vikas was brought overturned near Kanpur only.
- The vehicle in which Vikas was seated got overturned, no other vehicle got even a scratch.
- If he wanted to run then why he should have surrendered?
- Media vehicles following UP Police convoy escorting terrorist Vikas Dubey were stopped a few kilometers before the place of encounter in the name of vehicle checking. The place where barricading was put and checking was happening is not very commonplace for checking. So banning media presence before the actual place of encounter also indicate a conspiracy.

Where this cross-firing happened:
The encounter took place about 15 km from Kanpur. According to SSP Kanpur, Vikas was trying to escape by snatching the pistol of the injured soldier after turning the vehicle over. Meanwhile, he was shot in the counter-firing.
He took the opportunity and tried to escape by snatching the policemen’s weapon. After this, the encounter started. STF asked Vikas to surrender with weapons. If he did not agree despite this, the police had to force an encounter.
