April 26, 2022 Updated: 1:30 IST (New Delhi): The microblogging platform, Twitter is finally owned by Tesla Chief, Elon Musk. Twitter accepted Musk’s billion-dollar deal after evaluating it for over a week. The online microblogging platform has been sold to Musk for over $44 billion. It is also observed that the intial CEO of Twitter, Parag Agrawal and the Twitter board were against Elon Musk’s demand of taking full control over Twitter but the pressure of shareholders pushed them to make the decision in Musk’s favour. The Tesla CEO and ‘Social Media King’ is now the owner of Twitter.

Since the starting of the meeting with the board, Elon Musk wanted full stake of Twitter and it is now being clear after he buys full control of the microblogging platform. However, Jack Dorsey, the Twitter co-founder and until recently its CEO, has said that Elon Musk buying Twitter is a great step in the right direction. “It will help Twitter come out of an impossible situation”, he said. On Monday Night, Dorsey in a series of tweets endorsed Musk’s buying of Twitter shares. “Elon’s goal of creating a platform that is maximally trusted and broadly inclusive is the right one. This is also @paraga’s goal, and why I chose him. Thank you both for getting the company out of an impossible situation. This is the right path I believe it with all my heart,” Dorsey wrote in a series of tweets.

Elon Musk admires Twitter since his beginning. Musk believes Twitter has a lot of potential and capability, so he wants to unlock them all. “This is not a way to sort of make money. My strong intuitive sense is that having a public platform that is maximally trusted and broadly inclusive is extremely important,” he said during the TED 2022 conference in Vancouver. Elon always advocates the need of bringing ‘Edit Button’ very soon. Twitter has already announced the coming of the edit button, but Musk taking charge may push the launch to an early date. The edit button is expected to first release for verified users, followed by everyone else. As per reports, Musk also wants to make Twitter a more open-source platform. During the recent TED conference, Musk said that Twitter should be more open source as “there’s no sort of behind-the-scenes manipulation, either algorithmically or manually.” However, as per a recent report by Reuters, Twitter CEO, Parag Agrawal says that he doesn’t know in which direction the company is headed and the employees are not happy with the deal.
