1 Republic TV CEO Vikash Khanchandani in Mumbai in Fake TV Rating Scam.

The Mumbai Branch on Sunday arrested Republic TV’s CEO Vikas Khanchandani in connection with the TRP manipulation scam.

A Mumbai Court remanded Vikas Khanchandani to police custody till December 15.

Police said that Khanchandani, who is the 13 accused to be arrested in the case is the beneficiary of the scam and he had knowledge of the crime.

2 Country music legend Charley Pride passes away at 86.

US country music star Charley Pride, a pioneering Black singer who racked up 29 number one hits, died Saturday of Covid-19 complications. He was 86.

Pride’s family confirmed his death in a statement, saying he had passed away in Dallas, Texas.

Born in racially segregated Mississippi in 1934, Pride was known for 1970s hits including “Kiss an Angel Good Mornin'” and was the first African American to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Signed to RCA Records, he became the label’s biggest-selling performer since Elvis Presley.

3 Raees actress Mahira Khan tests positive for Covid-19.

Actress Mahira Khan has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The actress shared the news on Instagram.

She wrote that she is currently in isolation and also asked people who were in close contact with her to get tested.

In the note shared on Instagram Mahira mentioned that it has been a rough time for her and she hopes it would soon be okay. She also requested everyone to wear a mask.

4 Babar Azam ruled out of NZ T20Is with thumb fracture.

Babar Azam, the Pakistan skipper, has been ruled out of the T20I series against New Zealand after suffering an injury on his right thumb, and remains doubtful for the Test series as well.

“Babar suffered the injury during a throw-down session, following which he was taken to a local hospital where X-rays confirmed the fracture,” the Pakistan Cricket Board stated in a release on Sunday (December 13). “As a result, he will be unable to attend nets for, at least, 12 days. During this period, the doctors will continue to monitor Babar’s injury before confirming his participation in the first Test.
