Police say, “A solvent was kept for some reaction after which it caught fire. Injured shifted to hospital. Rescue operation is on.”

2. Parents protest against Pune schools for overcharging fees.

Canada’s health regulator approved Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine Wednesday, days ahead of possible approval in the United States, and said it hopes to start giving the shots next week.

The vaccine made by U.S. drugmaker Pfizer and Germany’s BioNTech vaccine already has been authorized for use by the United Kingdom and Bahrain, and officials have said they expect the U.S. authorization within days.

4. Fear of getting infected by corona led to a prison riot in Sri Lanka.

A Sri Lankan investigation panel concluded that the laat month prison riot due to the protests by the prisoners in the fear of getting infected from Coronavirus. The five-member probe committee’s interim report said that the riot at the Mahara prison on November 29 and 30 was caused by the protest staged to receive a quick solution to the COVID-19 issue

Eleven inmates were killed in the protest. The government appointed the probe panel after pressure from the Opposition and the victims’ relatives
