In a shocking incident,17 people found dead at South African nightclub

June 27, 2022 (New Delhi): South Africa’s nightclub is making headlines over the internet after at least 17 people were found dead at a nightclub in outhern city of East London on Sunday, police said. According to police officials, “We got a report about 17 (people) who died in a local tavern in Scenery Park which is based in East London,” provincial police chief brigadier Thembinkosi Kinana told AFP. He added that the authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to the official , the victims were aged between 18 and 20 years. The police are also trying to calm down the crowd gathered outside the club in the city. Surprisingly, Emergency Services were called in the early hours of Sunday to the Enyobeni Tavern in Scenery Park, on the edge of East London, Eastern Cape province. Authorities say that they are going to carry out post-mortems as soon as possible. As per the latest reports, there are no obvious injuries on the bodies. Many news agencies reported more than 20 deaths so far. However, follow-up on this developing story is much awaited.
