Hardik Patel resigns from the Congress Party, Takes ‘Chicken Sandwich’ swipe at Top Delhi Leaders

May 18, 2022 (New Delhi): Gujarat Leader Hardik Patel took out a scathing attack on senior leadership of the Congress Party. Hardik announced his resignation from the party on Wednesday. Giving bombshell and surprise to everyone, Hardik Patel in a letter wrote, “Senior leaders were distracted by their phones and the leadership of the Gujarat Congress was more interested to secure “chicken sandwiches” for them.”

Few days after Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Gujarat, Hardik expressed the subtle veiled exposure with other leaders of the Gujarat Congress. He further lamented, “Senior leaders in Gujarat are more interested in ensuring that visiting leaders receive their chicken sandwiches than engaging with people during yatras,” the letter said.

Patidar Leader Hardik Patel took to Twitter on Wednesday morning and wrote, “Today, with courage, I am submitting my resignation from the post and primary membership of Congress party. I am hopeful that my decision will be welcomed by each friend and the people of Gujarat. I believe this step of mine will help in working in a positive manner for Gujarat in future.”
