Enrique Iglesias, a famous worldwide Spanish singer who is know for his global hit tracks like ‘Baby I Like it‘, ‘Bailando‘, ‘Dirty Dancer‘, ‘Ring My Bell‘, ‘Tonight I’m Loving You‘, ‘Hero‘, ‘Addicted‘, ‘Takin Back My Love‘, ‘Somebody’s Me‘, Do You Know‘, ‘Love to See You Cry‘, ‘Finally Found You‘,I’m a Freak‘, ‘Escape‘ and many more.

Enrique was born on 8th May 1975 in Madrid, Spain to Julio Iglesias and Isabel Preysler. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall and has Taurus as his zodiac sign. Enrique is one of the best-selling Latin recording artists in the world and famously known as ‘King of Latin Pop’. His father is a popular Spanish singer but Enrique entered the music industry with the false surname of Martinez as he did not want to use his famous father’s name to advance his own career.

Enrique Iglesias has sold over 170 million records (albums and singles combined) worldwide, making him one of the best-selling Spanish speaking artists ever. Iglesias has scored over 150 number-one songs across all of the Billboard charts. He has had five Billboard Hot 100 top five singles, including two number-ones, and holds the record for producing 27 number-one Spanish-language singles on the Billboard‘s Hot Latin Tracks.

He began writing songs at the age of 15 but had to be secretive as his parents did not approve of it. He dropped out of university after the first year to concentrate on music. This turned out to be a masterstroke as his first album itself sold a half a million copies in its first week and he became a star overnight. 

He maintains a very fine balance between his Spanish and English songs, a task his contemporaries could not quite succeed at. Till date he has sold over 137 million records worldwide and has more than 70 No. 1 rankings on the various Billboard charts. Billboard has called him ‘The King of Latin Pop’ and ‘The King of Dance’.

He is also known for his charitable activities as he constantly donates and organises concerts in order to financially help the victims of natural disasters.

He has won more than 200 awards from various ceremonies including 23 Billboard Music Award (with 9 times extra nominations) and 36 Billboard Latin Music Awards (with 45 times nomination), as well as 8 American Music Awards (with 6 times nomination), 1 Grammy (with 3 times nomination), 5 Latin Grammy (with 4 times extra nomination), 10 World Music Awards (with 2 times nomination), 6 MTV awards, 19 Premios Lo Nuesreo Awards (with 24 times nomination) and 15 Premios Juventud Awards (with 21 times nomination) etc. He has been nominated over 465 times from various Awards. He also won an award for Best International Pop Act at the MTV India Awards.
