US President Donald Trump described an Indian-origin policeman as a “national hero”. The policeman was “savagely murdered” in California by an “illegal immigrant”.
The policeman, Ronil (Ron) Singh, 33, of the Newman Police Department was shot dead in a traffic stop on December 26 by an illegal immigrant. He was a native of Fiji who joined the enforcement force in July 2011.
Trump on Thursday spoke to his family members and his colleagues. “America’s heart broke the after Christmas when a young police officer was savagely murdered by an illegal alien. The life of the national hero was taken by someone who does not have the right to be the citizen our country”, said Trump.
The accused has been arrested by the Californian Police and was identified as. Gustavo Perez Arriaga, a 30-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico.
