March 28, 2022(New Delhi): While campaigning for an MLC election candidate in Ghatampur, Uttar Pradesh minister Rakesh Sachan asked voters to decide if they want “pauva” which means booze or power. Persuading people that there would be consistent development in Ghatampur, Rakesh Sachan said, “If you need pauva, then go to the other side and if you need power, then support Avinash Chauhan.”

Rakesh Sachan said this contentious statement while asking voters to support Avinash Chauhan who is set to contest the UP MLC election from the Ghatampur constituency. Sachan recently visited Ghatampur town in Kanpur Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. His convoy was accorded a rousing welcome late at night at Sachan Guest House on Musamagar Road in the town. When reporters asked him, Why there was no minister from UP kanpur constituency? He replied, “This is the decision of party high command and is acceptable and applicable to all the ministers of the state and not just of a district.
