World Heart Day 2020: Why is it important to have a healthy heart?

September 29 is being celebrated as the World Heart Day to celebrate the health of our heart and its prevention from various cardiovascular diseases especially for the adults ageing from 40 years old.

Following the unhealthy diet like excessive intake of salt and sugar and increasing consumption of junk food can lead to high blood pressure and be really harmful for the heart.

So here are some simple steps to keep your heart healthy and happy:

Eat Healthy:

Start your day with whole grains like brown rice or whole grains. It can bring great nutrition to you and your heart as well. Thus, substitute your white food with brown food. You can also try other whole grains like Barley, oatmeal, and buckwheat.

Don’t take stress:

Everyone has challenges in their life, but it depends on how you deal with it. Stress management is one the most important thing to maintain health of our brain as well as heart. So, try to stay calm and composed while facing any challenge in your life.

Exercise Daily:

Exercising for minimum 30-45 minutes a day is much needed for your body as well as your heart or go for a walk and complete 10,000 steps daily to normalise the oxygen and nutrients supply from your heart.

Sleep on Time:

Not having an adequate amount of sleep can increase your stress. It can also lead to weight gain and make you moody. So, it is important to have a good sleep of at least 7-8 hours a day.
