Have you heard about the updated travel rules made by Mumbai Airport? If you’re planning to travel to Mumbai then don’t forget to read these restrictions carefully!

Many states have started taking strict safety measures to control the spread of the new formation of the new corona variant Omnicron. Amid the concern of the fast-spreading corona variant, Mumbai airport has updated its travel rules. They are very important for everyone. This is the only way in which we can control the spread. People not following the rules will be punished and their entry will be prohibited at the airport. These rules are specially made for passengers arriving from high-risk countries. RT-PCR tests are compulsorily done for others, and 14 day home quarantine are among the measures taken by the Mumbai airport amid concerns over the Omicron strain.

  1. Passengers arriving from ‘at risk’ countries will have to undergo mandatory seven-day institutional quarantine, during which time they must take three RT-PCR tests – on the second, fourth and seventh days after arrival.
  2. Those arriving from any other countries will have to compulsorily undergo RT-PCR test on arrival and on being found negative will have to undergo 14 days of home quarantine. If found positive they will be shifted to the hospital.
  3. Passengers planning to travel to or through India must submit on the Air Suvidha online portal a self-declaration form with their travel details of the past 14 days, a copy of their passport, a negative RT-PCR report no older than 72 hours before their journey, and a declaration of authenticity of the test report.
  4. Children under 5 years of age are exempted from both pre-arrival and post-arrival testing unless found symptomatic for COVID-19 on arrival or during the home quarantine period.
  5. In case of domestic air travel, passenger travelling within Maharashtra will either need to be fully vaccinated or compulsorily carry a negative RT-PCR test within 48 hours of the time of arrival.
