Coronavirus Live Update: Situation worrisome in the country, record-breaking cases in Maharashtra, borders sealed in Gujarat
The condition of corona infection has become worrisome in many states of the country including Maharashtra. Despite increasing restrictions, cases are continuously increasing and recovery rates are falling. A record 25 thousand 833 cases were reported in the country’s most affected state of Maharashtra on Thursday. This is the largest figure since the arrival of the Corona epidemic in the country. There are not so many cases in one state in one day. Earlier on September 11 last year, 24,886 cases were confirmed in the state.
Gujarat’s borders sealed, no lockdown in view of Corona:
In view of the increasing cases of corona infection in Gujarat, the government has closed schools and colleges, and universities in eight big cities till 10 April. University examinations have also been canceled. Only the 10th and 12th examinations will be held. Apart from this, public bus service in Ahmedabad and Surat, Garden, Gym, Zoo, etc. have been closed and the duration of night curfew has been extended.
The chief minister has refused to implement the lockdown, but the borders with neighboring states of Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh have been sealed.
Situation worsened in Punjab and Kerala too:
In Punjab too, the situation is worsened by corona infection. On Thursday, 2387 new cases were reported here. At the same time, 32 people died during this period. So far, 2.05 lakh cases have been reported in the state and 6204 people have died. The active case is 14,366. On Thursday, 1,899 new cases of the corona were reported in Kerala and 15 people died. A total of 10.98 lakh cases have been reported in the state so far and 4,450 people have died.
State Health Minister KK Selja said that 54,314 samples have been tested in the state in the last 24 hours. So far 1.25 crore samples have been tested.

The infection rate of Corona in the capital may be less than one percent now, but the infection has been increasing continuously for the last few days. The transition rate increased from 0.66 percent to 0.76 percent. So 71 days later new cases of Corona reached beyond 600.
On Thursday, 607 new patients have been received. Earlier on January 6, 654 patients were found. A day earlier, 536 cases were reported. Due to this, in two days, 1143 people have been affected by Corona. With this, the number of active patients has reached about three thousand. In the last 24 hours, 384 patients have recovered and one patient has died.
