Bollywood legacies are a big trend in the industry when we talk about ancestral actors, there are families which have been in talking since the late 40’s from Raj Kapoor to Nutan era has been revolutionary. Earlier Athiya Shetty, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan to shraddha Kapoor weren’t they last ! Here is another star kid who has got the right credentials to make it big in Bollywood. She is the granddaughter of Nutan, the reigning actor of 1960s and 1970s Indian cinema, Pranutan Bahl.
She’s the daughter of actor Mohnish Bahl, she taking forward the family legacy, the 24-year-old self-confessed, “I can’t wait to work in Bollywood. Given my legacy, I believe I can’t be a part of any and every project. It has to be a substantial character and the film must be helmed by a good director under a leading banner.
Peanut has been the talk of the town since her pictures with her father were all over the internet, recently. “My father and I just shared a few pictures on Facebook and that got all the attention. It’s wonderful when you get so much love from people. I’m happy they’ve commented how I look like my father and grandmother. It’s evident that I’ve taken to my paternal side.”
A year or two back, Pranutan received offers via her father, but she couldn’t take them up because she wanted to finish her studies. The young girl has a double degree in law and is currently pursuing Masters at Mumbai University. But now, she’s open to doing films.
Does she worry about competition with other star kids who are ready to make their debut in Bollywood? Even if she is in, she surely is in the healthy competition which is important. It helps you perform better. Jhanvi and Sara Ali Khan both are stunning and talented.
Interestingly, Pranutan is carrying forward the legacy of her grandmother as she looks as graceful and charming as Nutan looked in the 70s. The actor did some of the unconventional roles and gave powerful performances in movies like Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki, Anari, Chhalia, Saraswatichandra, Anuraag and Saudagar that won her several awards and accolades.
Nutan is still referred to as a timeless beauty. Not only this, Nutan also became a role model for other female actors.
