Producer-actress Manju Singh of ‘Swaraj’ & ‘Adhikar’ fame passes away at 73.

On one hand, the good news of Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor’s marriage has come out from the Bollywood corridors, while on the other hand, the heart breaking news from the industry is disappointing people. Actress Manju Singh, who has proved her mettle in many great films including Amol Palekar’s popular film ‘Golmaal’, has passed away. Manju Singh died in Mumbai due to cardiac arrest. Manju Singh also worked in television shows, as well as she was a producer. The sad news of the death of the actress has been shared by lyricist and actor Swanand Kirkire through social media.

Swanand Kirkire shared a post about this sad news. She has paid tribute to Manju Singh by sharing a picture of her and wrote in her post, ‘Manju Singh Ji Nahi Rahi! Manju ji brought me from Delhi to Mumbai to write her show Swaraj for Doordarshan! He made many unique shows Ek Kahani, Show Time etc for DD. ‘Ratna’ from Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s film Golmaal How can our beloved Manju ji forget your love.. Goodbye!’

Manju Singh was a well-known name in the Indian television industry. He produced the shows Swaraj, Ek Kahaani, Show Time etc. Affectionately known as ‘Didi’, Manju was the anchor of a children’s show, Khel Toys. The show ran for about 7 years. Apart from this, Manju Singh also appeared in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s film Golmaal, in which she played the role of Ratna. In recent times, Manju Singh was associated with several international film festivals for children and youth. In 2015, he was recognized for his contribution to the creative arts and education sector and was nominated as a member of the Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) by the Government of India.
