Regé-Jean Page, who made fans swoon as the dashing Duke in Netflix’s Bridgerton has come abroad and now will star in and executive produce “The Saint” reboot, which hails from Paramount Pictures. The movie’s script will be written by actor and playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah, while Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Brad Krevoy, and the late Robert Evans are currently listed as producers for the project.

This is Regé-Jean Page’s second major announcement and project with Paramount after the recently confirmed Dungeons and Dragons movie. The Saint is based on the early 20th-century adventure novels by Leslie Charteris that featured a mysterious man named Simon Templar taking down criminals. The character proved quite popular, appearing in comics, serials, and movies. As Roger Moore famously starred in the 1960s British TV Series of the same name and Val Kilmer starred in Paramount’s 1997 film ‘ The Saint ‘ as a master of disguise.

Earlier, Hollywood star Chris Pine was supposed to feature in the long-gestating project ‘ The Saint’ and it was supposed to be directed by Dexter Fletcher. But, the plan got shelved soon.

Notably, Regé-Jean Page’s character in the movie ‘The Saint’ will be no less than James Bond as Templar too is a mysterious man who hunts down bad guys. However, the producers still have to figure out the artist who will direct this film.

Meanwhile, Page’s work in Bridgerton as Simon Basset had worked for him in getting big projects. Regé-Jean Page, will now also be seen in Russo Brother’s action thriller, The Gray Man which stars Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling.
