Mumbaikar: SS Rajamouli unveils Poster of Vijay Sethupathi, Vikrant Massey starrer

Filmmakers SS Rajamouli and Karan Johar gave an exciting new year gift on Friday by launching the title logo poster of their upcoming film Mumbaikar.

Directed by Santosh Sivan and presented by Riya Shibu, the flick that revolves around the financial capital of the country features stars like Vijay Sethupathi, Vikrant Massey, Tanya Maniktala, Sanjay Mishra, Ranvir Shorey, and Sachin Khedekar among others.

Talking about the film Santosh Sivan said “Every city has its spirit, and so does Mumbai that is synonymous with the spirit of resilience. It draws aspirants from all over India, both in terms of region and religion. And in the midst of the concrete jungle, there is a heartbeat that heals. Mumbai may be a metro, but Mumbaikar is an emotion. Hence the title. In terms of cast, we have an intriguing and interesting mix of national talents. And that adds to the magic.”

After Slumdog Millionaire and Gully Boy, Mumbaikar seeks to look at the metro scale of Mumbai through the lives of interwoven characters who reside in the dark and bright life of Mumbai.

Mumbaikar is likely to be a Hindi remake of Tamil action thriller, Maanagaram.

Mumbaikar is being presented by Riya Shibu. It will have a theatrical release later this year
