JLO recently revealed her role in the upcoming futuristic sci-fi thriller Atlas through Instagram. Atlas is a Netflix original film about a lady named Atlas who fights for mankind and against the world’s dominance by artificial intelligence.

Joby Harold, Tory Tunnel, Jeff Fierson, Elaine Thomas, Benny Medina, and, of course, Lopez herself will produce. Matt Schwartz will co-produce alongside Courtney Baxter as executive producer.

Peyton said. “I’m so honored to be working with Jennifer, Elaine and the rest of the team at Nuyorican Productions along with our partners Joby and Tory at Safehouse,” “Having the chance to direct Jennifer in the title role of this movie is a dream come true, as I know she’ll bring the incredible strength, depth and authenticity we’ve all come to admire from her work.”

He then added “Furthermore, Jeff and I are so excited to be back working with Scott, Ori and the entire team at Netflix. They have been nothing short of amazing to work with and we are blessed to have the opportunity to make another movie on the service.”

Last week, Lopez struck a multi-year first-look contract with Netflix and now the newest addition is Atlas, with incredible director Brad Peyton signed to the project. Aron Eli Coleite is creating a draught of the screenplay, which is based on Leo Sardarian’s original script.

Lopez uploaded a photo of herself clutching the project’s screenplay and expressed her delight at being a part of its completion.

Before starring in the film Selena, Jennifer Lopez danced on the TV show In Living Color. She went to music and had significant singles like “Get Right” and “Play” on the mainstream and dance charts, while continuing to work in Hollywood films.

Peyton is best known for his work on the Dwayne Johnson films Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012), San Andreas (2015), and Rampage (2018), as well as the Netflix series Daybreak (2019).
