The festival of Eid is here and Muslims all around the globe are busy celebrating the holy festival. In India, the celebrations will take place on June 16.
The moon was sighted in New Delhi on June 15 due to which the celebrations will take place the next day. Eid ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan and is celebrated by breaking the 30-day long fast with a grand celebration. The day is the only day when Muslims aren’t permitted to fast.

The day of Eid falls on the first day of the month of Shawwal depending upon the sighting of the moon the previous night. The fasting ends and people look forward to Eid celebrations the day after. On the day of Eid al-Fitr, Muslims offer a particular salat (Islamic prayer) consisting of two rakats (units) which is usually offered in an open field or large hall.
Here’s wishing all our readers Eid Mubarak!
