Evergreen Actress Neena Gupta’s life has been anything but ordinary. Neena Gupta, in her recently launched autobiography ‘Sach Kahun Toh’ had revealed many unknown events from her life.
One such anecdote listed in her book, happens to be from the time when she was pregnant.The actress discloses that after she got pregnant while she was in a relationship with former West Indies Captain Vivian Richards in the 1980’s her close friend and veteran actor Satish Kaushik had offered to marry her.
Recalling her pregnancy Neena revealed that many of her friends suggested that she should marry someone so that her child would have a name and a father figure.”A few friends suggested I get married to someone so my child would have a name and a father figure,” she wrote in her book.
At that Time “Satish Kaushik, such a wonderful friend, called and said, ‘Nancy (his nickname for me since college), don’t worry. If the child is born with dark skin, you can just say it’s mine and we’ll get married. Nobody will suspect a thing’.” Neena Gupta wrote in her book.
Neena Gupta added that she politely refused and got emotional. An excerpt from her memoir read, “I found this offer so sweet that I had tears in my eyes. The fact that he was ready to sacrifice his own chance at true love and happiness for me was very touching but I politely refused.”
For the unversed Neena Gupta and Satish Kaushik, both National School of Drama Alumni had worked together in films like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron and Mandi.
Satish Kaushik later married film producer Shashi Kaushik, While Neena Gupta married to charted accountant Vivek Mehra.
Meanwhile, during an Instagram video chat with actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, who launched the book on June 14, Neena said that she had been writing the autobiography for 20 years and would often wonder if people were even interested in reading about her.
Neena Gupta was last seen playing the lead role of Sardar in Netflix’s Sardar Ka Grandson, co-starring Arjun Kapoor, and Rakul Preet Singh.
