Akshay Kumar reacts on boycott of ‘Raksha Bandhan’

8 August, 2022 (New Delhi): Akshay Kumar’s upcoming biggest film of this year ‘Raksha Bandhan’ is all set to hit the theaters on August 11, 2022. Bhumi Pednekar and Akshay Kumar’s film is getting a lot of negative reactions. First, the film has been accused of plagiarism. It has been told that the story of Raksha Bandhan has been copied from a Pakistani film. Also, Raksha Bandhan writer Kanika Dhillon was reprimanded after her old tweets surfaced online where she wrote about cow urine, hijab ban and communal lynching. Boycott Raksha Bandhan is trending continuously on Twitter.

Kanika Dhillon has been seen posting a confused anti-Hindu tweet on Twitter as her tweets went viral even before the film’s release. Akshay was asked why he likes to work with people who have a passion for hating everything related to Hinduism. This is not the first time Akshay has worked with people who are anti-Hindu. A user asked Akshay, ‘Why does Akshay Kumar always partner with Hindu haters, beef lovers? What is this? #Raksha Bandhan.’

A user shared a screenshot of Kanika Dhillon’s tweet and wrote, ‘You are against Hindu tradition and are also working on a film called #Rakshabandhan. You basically want money from Hindu tradition, but hate Hindu tradition. #KanikaDhillon.’ Netizens slammed Akshay Kumar for working with Kanika Dhillon. He has started trending ‘Raksha Bandhan ka Boycott’. One user wrote, ‘So this Hindu-hating woman is the writer of @akshaykumar’s film #Rakshabandhan? I won’t watch the movie because this woman is attached to it! @KanikaDhillon.’ Meanwhile, many users also started taunting Akshay Kumar for different things. Someone connected the matter with Sushant Singh Rajput and said that he will boycott Bollywood forever. Some also started talking about Hindu culture. Check out some of the tweets here.
