Makeup Artist and Social Media Influencer Hitesha Chandranee, who had accused a Zomato delivery man of attacking her over alleged delayed service was booked by the Bengaluru police on Monday.
An FIR has been registered against Hitesha Chandranee based on a complaint by the Zomato employee Kamaraj in Karnataka’s Bengaluru.
As per the report, the FIR has been filed under Section 355 (assault), 504 (insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC at Bengaluru’s Electronic City Police Station based on Kamaraj’s complaint.
Over the past week the social media had been heavily divided after Bengaluru-based model Hitesha Chandranee accused Zomato’s delivery executive of assaulting her, sharing videos of her nose bleeding, leading to the suspension of the delivery boy Kamaraj.
Meanwhile, Zomato’s founder Deepinder Goyal also released a statement saying that the company is currently providing all resources to Kamaraj to ensure that ‘both sides of the story come to light in the ‘spirit of fairness’.
However, the Zomato food delivery executive Kamaraj has rejected the allegations leveled against him, saying ‘let the truth win’.
Kamaraj has even said that since he was late for the delivery, Hitesha asked her to deliver the food for free, but as he refused to do so she started hitting him with slippers. Then in self-defense his left hand touched her right hand and the ring which she worn hit her nose and it started bleeding.
“I don’t want to make it more complicated, let the truth win. If not, I will fight it legally. I have a mother with co-morbid conditions, my father died 15 years back, I am the only breadwinner for my family. I am working in Zomato for the past 26 months with 4.7 ratings. As of now, the company has blocked my ID until this case completes and assured of taking it back once the matter resolves,” Kamaraj added.
The two versions of the incident have divided social media and the matter is now under strict investigation.
