Prithvi Shaw creates history, smashes whirlwind double century in Vijay Hazare Trophy

India and Mumbai opener Prithvi Shaw has created history on Thursday by joining the 200 run club in List A cricket.

Prithvi Shaw continued his good run in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy and slammed a double hundred off just 142 balls against Puducherry in Jaipur on Thursday.

The opener smashed 27 fours and 4 sixes to complete his maiden double century.

Prithvi Shaw’s superb innings helped Mumbai post a mammoth total of 457/4 against Puducherry in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match. It is the highest ever 50 over total made on Indian soil.

Prithvi Shaw who has six centuries in list A Cricket had the highest score of 150 for India A against New Zealand before this innings.

Prithvi Shaw remained unbeaten on 227 runs (152 balls) registered the highest score by a captain in Men’s List A Cricket.

The 21-year-old who is captaining Mumbai in the absence of Shreyas Iyer had earlier smashed 105 runs against Delhi on February 21.

With the feat, Prithvi Shaw now joins the elite list of Indian Players including Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, KV Kaushal, Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal who have scored a List A double hundred.

Prithvi Shaw is eyeing a comeback in the national squad and his recent form could see him earn a recall in the ODI team for the England Series.

Prithvi Shaw has scores of 105 , 34, and 200 in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy and is in line to regain his ODI Spot.

The group stage-matches in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy will end on March 1.
