Opening batsman and Mumbai Skipper Prithvi Shaw on Thursday registered his fourth century in the semifinal of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021 season.
Prithvi shaw scored yet another century by playing a superb inning of 165 runs off just 122 balls in the second semi-final against Karanataka at the Palam A Stadium.
The right-handed batsman brought his hundred off just 79 balls with the help of 12 fours and 3 sixes.
Prithvi shaw has now become the first batsman to score more than 700 runs this season. Prithvi has also broken Mayank Agarwal’d record of scoring the most number of runs in a single Vijay Hazare Trophy season.
Batting for Karnataka, Mayank Agarwal has smashed 723 runs during the 2018 season. In 7 matches so far, Prithvi has scored up 754 runs in seven games
Shaw has led the Mumbai team in three games in the tournament, and in these three, he scored with one double century and two tons.
For the unversed Prithvi shaw had earlier broken Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli’s record of the highest individual score by an Indian batsman in a List A Chase.
Prithvi achieved the feat when he hammered an unbeaten 185 off 123 balls against Saurashtra in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy.While Dhoni had smashed an unbeaten 183 against Sri Lanka in 2005, Kohli had hit 183 to help India to win against Pakistan in 2012.
Meanwhile severals fans and the Cricket fraternity have taken to Twitter to congratulate Prithvi Shaw for his remarkable effort with the bat this year.
