Mahendra Singh Dhoni, commonly known as Mahi and the Captain Cool of Indian Cricket is the heartthrob of millions of cricket fans.

The former Team India’s skipper has won all the major cricketing accolades that one can achieve during their life-long career in Cricket. MS Dhoni is the only international captain to have the three major ICC Trophies that include ICC 50-Over World Cup, T20 World Cup, and Champions Trophy.

Apart from him being one of the greatest captains in the history of cricket, Dhoni was also an outstanding wicketkeeper and a brilliant finisher. It was under the leadership of MS Dhoni, India reached number one ranking in all the formats of the game.

1. Dhoni has the Title of Lt. Colonel.

Dhoni is only the second Indian after Kapil Dev to receive an honorary rank. On November 1, 2011, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was given the Lieutenant Colonel by the Indian Territorial Army.

2. Dhoni is a big fan of Bollywood Actor John Abraham.

Dhoni sported long hair during his initial years of International Cricket. He once revealed that the hairstyle was inspired by his favourite actor John Abraham. Dhoni has also shot a film with his favourite actor John Abraham in 2010 – Hook ya Crook, directed by David Dhawan. However, the film didn’t release and no one could see Dhoni on a big screen.

3. He loves listening to Kishore Kumar Songs.

Dhoni’s favourite singer is Kishore Kumar, and the fact he used a Kishore Kumar’s song ‘Mein Pal Do Pal Ka Shayar Hoon’ in his retirement video is a testament to his love for the singer.

4. Mahi loves food.

MS Dhoni loves butter chicken and also enjoys hot chocolate fudge. During his initial days in International Cricket, Dhoni used to have butter chicken, naan, milkshakes, and a lot of chocolates and soft drinks in his diet. But with time and the need to be fit in his game he had to sacrifice all his love for food.

5. Love for Bikes.

When not hitting sixes or affecting those lightning stumpings, Dhoni likes to unwind riding one of his several bikes. He has a garage full of motorcycles, a passion that dates back to his college days when he owned Rajdoot.
