Can T Natarajan be third time lucky and make his test debut?

Thangarasu Natrajan, India’s premier left-arm seamer who recently made his ODI and T20 debuts during the limited-overs leg of India’s ongoing tour of Australia may finally earn his maiden Test Cap in the third Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

An injury to Umesh Yadav has paved the way for the left-handed seamer T Natarajan to make his Test debut.

The Team Indian Management has reportedly also added Shardul Thakur to the Test squad after Mohammad Shami was ruled out due to the injury sustained in the first test match. Shardul and Natrajan both are being made to stay for the Test series by the management and now the latter is excpected to pip the former a place in the XI for the third test.

Natarajan’s inclusion has been the talking point in the whole series. the bowler came as a net bowler for the Australian tour. But soon got the opportunity to represent India in ODIS and T20’s as a replacement for Navdeep Saini and Varun Chakraborty respectively.

Meanwhile, An injury to Umesh Yadav has again started the talks of giving Natrajan his first test opportunity.

Netizens had been creating buzz and preferring Natrajan to play for India in the third pink test match at Sydney.

As far as Yadav is concerned, he is expected to head off to National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for an extensive rehab program. The 33-year-old had hobbled off the field after suffering the injury during the third day of the Boxing Day Test.
